Writing a New Song - Part II (Waiting for the click)

So as I've told you a few weeks ago, I am writing new material for Enraged. Since then I've come up with a lot of riffs and ideas but I am yet to feel excited about a particular one. A couple of years ago I'd have normally just finished the tracks and decided whether or not to play them later but I don't have that kind of patience these days. I usually find myself abandoning the work that I've done and trying something else; leaving behind a lot of undeveloped riffs and structures. There is a wasteland of .gp4 and .gp5 files on my hard drive now, lol.

Of course I feel very frustrated and demotivated because of that but in the same time I say to myself not rushing into completing unsatisfying music might eventually put me on the right track. So as the summer starts; I am spending my World of Warcraft-less days practising guitar and writing music at night; waiting for the click. I Hope it comes!

p.s The easiest part was making names for the songs I am to write!! I'll let one go for now; Hypatia! (That is the one I am currently working on). I'll let you know how it goes.

The Big Ass Post You've All Been Waiting For !!!!!

It's been a while since my last update. I blame that on the malfunction of my camera, my laziness and the World of Warcraft! But to postpone doesn't mean to forget!! And so there it goes ... We've had two jams the last two weeks and we've added a couple of new covers to our repertoire! So far we've added another track for Nightwish and Evanescence. The Nightwish song which I am not going to reveal its name so you come in our next Sawy performance =P, is a really heavy one from the Tarja days! It has been particularly annoying to play it as a band but in just two jams we seem to be getting the hold of it!

There has also a lot been going around for synchronizing our playing and improving the band's tightness. There are miles to cross but I am optimistic! The addition of Ashraf Majid to our lineup has proven to be very fruitful. That dude is hard working and doesn't compromise on getting this done! Unfortunately, exams are on the horizon! And now half the band has to take a break (from the long break before it!). This sucks ... I can't get it why a single jam in the week would foil the plans of brilliancy in our fucked up universities!! Oh well ...

Aside from practicing; Rasha, Omar and I attended Wyvern's album listening party in the Cairo Jazz Club last thursday. It was really awesome! I think that Wyvern sets so many standards for the level of professionalism of recording, performing and reaching out for opportunities and fans. They've played a couple of tracks from their new album and covered one of my favorite Metallica Songs, Harvester of Sorrow. This track is so fucking bad ass!!!

Later on we went to a cafe.I had a smoke despite developing a scary persistent pain in my right chest! Well ... I can't be on a fucking diet and stop smoking in the same time now can I? Well yeah .... and I probably should. I'll think about that later tonight in the cafe near my home .... With a hookah in my hand!!

So ... once again ... For you out there who actually visit the blog! These are our latest news! What is yours? Lemme know on the comment box or even email me on weos@hotmail.com

Aight then! Cheers
