Writing new material

Remember awaiting the click? Well ... It has finally clicked though I can hardly say I was inspired but have been rather experimenting with some ideas and now as I try a different approach to song structure than I usually used; it has worked like magic! I hope that the rest of the tracks that I am intending to write flow as easily ... I'll keep you posted \m/

The Day Enraged was Enraged

Two weeks after the gig I still can't bring myself to write the "post gig" blog. I had a lot of plans for that one including videos from the beggining of the day of the event till the last second of it. I may want to talk about it someday but for the moment I'd rather not.

I've already explained the whole situation from my perspective on our Facebook group and Rock Era magazine's Forum but I guess what matters now that the smoke has lifted (at least for now) is that we are willing to continue practise, compose and hopefully perform. The day Enraged was Enraged will surely cast its shadows on the future of this band given that the only venue that usually hosts Metal gigs has banned Enraged (And we weren't going to perform there anyway again given the shitty treatement). I understand that Enraged is facing a challenge but we're up to it.

We'll continue jamming again tommorow and as usual we will you keep you posted.

Cheers!

The night before the gig ...

I've played a couple of live shows with Enraged and other projects .. I think I could say that I don't a have stage fright. I still get some butterflies in my stomach sometimes and I think a lot prior to the show about the possibilities of things going wrong and whether or not people will like the show; that sort of thing. But that is just normal I guess.

I remember around 2003 I had a great professor, Dr. Muhammad Khalifa, who taught a Verbal Communication class and I owe a lot to this class. He gave a lot of tips about posture, strength of voice and, by practise, attitude. Anyway ... I am not afraid but I can't fucking sleep!

I have sleeping disorders .. It comes naturally with my overweight, anxiety and lack of organisation but I really really want to sleep so that I can wake up early in the morning to make sure things the stage is set and ready for the sound check ...

Anyway I was complying a list of things that one shouldn't be doing the night prior to an important gig .... Here it goes!

1- Wondering where the hell your guitars are!
Yep ... That is not a good situation! Not making sure that there is a guitar tuned and ready for the neck breaking gig is a not a cool feeling. Both of my guitars are being fixed and I have neither of them at the moment. I've lost hope for one of them but the other will probably be ready by tommorow. There is a catch, though. I need to change its fucking strings as well!!!
So yeah ... fetching in your closets for a guitar isn't a good sign before a gig

2- Getting glued to a video game late at night
Video games is probably one of the best things ever invented in the 20th century. I love video games! I've probably played video games more than any other activity other than perhaps sleeping and walking. And I sincerly doubt it! Sleep is superior to video gaming though when you know you must wake up early in a good shape and mood for a long day and a demanding performance. Oh well ... FOR THE HORDE !

3- Making a blog post at 4:22 am

Yeah ... I mean seriously! What the fuck?

So anyway ... There it is. Maybe a warm shower will get me to sleep a couple of hours. I just found out that I don't have any alarms to wake me up. Perhaps I will contemplate about it under the warm water. I'll try to take a lot of pics and videos tommorow of the whole thing so that all you loyal friends who logon the blog get a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes! Yeah ... I wish we were that important =P

Cheers and see you tommorow

p.s (For the memory. Tei7a, fuck you man!)

Big ass week end ! (Almost ready!)

Now that is what I call band pracstise sessions. Out of 4 days the band has met 3 times for long sessions and I can say that we are ready, almost! It's when I am absolutely tired and almost hating the songs we are practising that I finally realize that we've practised hard enough. I am sure if you are in a band that you'd most probably know what I am talking about =P. If not, trust me ... After a certain point of repeating the track a gazillion times; you feel pure hatred to the material! I still look forward to playing it ... and I hope you enjoy the show with us.

On Wednesday Ashraf was still recovering from long Handassa exams so he was a bit rusty. I can't blame the fellow ... I am surprised that he has finished his exams and has neither big puffy hair nor an unshaved beard! Is that even possible for Handassa students to be able to endure the turmoils without looking like that? Interesting ....

Omar, el da7a7, got a GPA of 4.0 ! Can you fucking believe that? We have a genious within our ranks ... Well, maybe a genious is too much but still ... 4.0? That is like a 100% ! Way to go man! We celeberated his good grades in Fridays. Oh yeah ... Tefa wanted to go to McDonald's but Omar was decisive! No one can resist Friday's Oreo madness =D We had a great time there which kinda brings me to the next topic ... Remember that thing about Live BBQ and the diet? Well ..... It's fucked ... It's totally ruined ... As a matter of fact; it was pointless. I am retracting! I am not fat ... I am just big bonned and if you think otherwise you can go to hell =P !

Plus ... When I decided I am going to do that I didn't know that my Ameto was preparing a feast this week end! Enraged and any potential health risks can also go to hell as far as I am concerned. Her food is never to be missed for any reason what so ever! God bless you Ameto!

Anyway on Friday and Saturday we had two sessions in Ganoub. The output was extreme shitness on Friday but on Saturday Amr Hefny was there and he treated us with a nice setting, the awesome one of Ganoub. We actually were pretty busy in the jams I don't have any photos or videos for those jams. There are some pics we took outside though one which absolutely captures the essence of "bleh" by Bishoy !

The Invisible hand is turning out to be a neck breaker! It's fast, it's angry and it's disturbed! We didn't have lyrics for it until today! Bishoy and Rasha made their contribution and we came out with really sick lyrics just the way I like it >=) \m/

I am kinda worried about my sore throat. I think I hurt my voice and I hope that tomorrow's rest can help me recover. Rasha also has been complaining of that problem ... Damn fucked up microphones! They say gargling with apple vinegar and salty water can help ... I'll try that !
Oh well there it is ... The count down is almost finished ... Get ready to rock!
Here is a little video tahyees =D !

Live BBQ?

You might have not noticed but ermmm .... I am fat! I've been putting on those extra kilos through the years and it is reaching dangerous points but who cares so as long as it tastes so damn good! Oh well ...

The thing is; summer this season is incredibely hot! I go out to get a coke and I return submerged in my own sweat out of a 5 minutes walk. It hit me ... What is going to happen when I climb the stage under the inconvineantly placed spot lights in the River Hall of El Sawy Culturewheel? Live BBQ ! So I thought to make things just a little bit easier for me ... Maybe If I drop some kilos it would slightly help me endure the 1 hour long performance. So I'll start today a diet forced by the fact that I barely have enough money to pay for the rehearsels (Afterwhich I'll be officially broke) so I can't afford the Big Tasties anymore. This diet is going to be challenged not just by craving for food but also my attempts to quit smoking. Heh ... It's going to be hard but I'll keep you updated!

My current weight is Oh-My-God-It-Is-Too-Fucking-Much KG's. In a week time I'll tell you how it goes. In the meantime; it's time to rehearse more! Tommorrow; Ashraf joins (finally!) and we can finally practise as a complete band.

Cheers!
