Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th, Week end Jams!

Yeah; Summer time is getting intense for the band. We've practised for a total of 8 hours on Friday and Saturday. Things are starting to shape up well; it looks like its going to be a good show.

We've practised the new track "The Invisible Hands" for the first time and I am really excited about playing it live. It's fast, heavy and dynamic! I am still to complete writing the lyrics for it and experimenting the vocals with Rasha ... Woot ... Not much time left!
I am also practising hard to do some vocals over the tracks. When I practise too hard in the jam I get a very painful sensation at the right side of my chest. Thanks to the Hookah! The sad thing is ... I still crave it! Oh well .... maybe after the gig? Just a couple of pufs? Please?
Here are a couple of pictures off the jams ... Stay tuned for more updates!

Enraged, Jamming session 25th of June

Today was our second serious jamming session for the gig. We are still without Ashraf our keyboardist for the next gig and we are still experimenting with some of the vocal lines; today I came out of the session with mixed feelings of anticipation and optimism. There is almost nothing to say about our output which is, quite frankly, horrible. Studio 32 has improved a lot but I'd not recommend it for rock and metal bands who need decent equipment that can actually test their sound. The 30 watts cheap amp obviously can't even comprehend what distortion is =/

We will do a pilgrimage to Ganoub soon to test our output on decent equipment and drums kit.

Our efforts in improving our tightness though is obviously paying off to a large extent and most of the songs that we've practised are more tight now. Rasha also seems to have expanded her range significantly and with more effort and faith; she'll do a wonderful job and I am sure you guys will notice that. I, on the other hand, am struggling to sing. My Hookah addiction is paying its toll on my poor lungs and I find it hard to sing for long sessions but I am already feeling better since I've stopped smoking for a week now and hopefully by the time we hit the stage it'll be good.

Today we've met Tamer Brazily by chance in the Studio! It was great to see him ... And he joined our session where he quietly practised on guitar and took some really good pictures. THANKS TAMER!!!! Brazilians have been quite generous with us this week ... They beat Italy 3-0 but we wasted the change to get on to the next rounds in South Africa 2009 and Tamer took some pics for us !!!

Now there is something that is really pissing me off. Everyone comes on time! You see ... I

decided that if someone comes later than 10 minutes; he'll have to pay for the time he missed alone (It's only fair when you think of it, what?!!! What is the look on your face???!!). However, everyone always comes within the buffer! It's like ... If there is a chance to be late for at least those couple of minutes; it shall be done god damn it!!! And Bishoy had another theory to share about "The Buffer Time" and of course it's on video ... Take a look =D !

Enraged Summer Times, Long jamming!

Today the 20th of June we've finally started preparing seriously for our July gig. We're still missing Ashraf, our keyboardist for this gig, because of his exams and we're not sure who exactly will sing some of the vocal lines but ... It's all good!

Today we've practised a couple of songs and focused primarily on one of the new covers we are adding to our setlist. It took us a while but I think we'll get the hang of it really soon and we hope you enjoy it! We're not that rusty after all and everyone is in good musical shape. I am very optimistic about this gig! Since some tracks require brutal/harsh vocals; I wanted to make a "brutal" championship but no one wanted to try it out except Bishoy and Rasha. Bishoy actually stunned us with his brutal vocaling potentials ... A true beast lingers within him I tell you!!!!

Bishoy had a gig tonight with Yorka band in Al Geniena Theater (They seriously should reconsider some of their staff members who are "touchy" and to be frank; assholes). It was a nice performance though; at least the part we've cached. We were stuck in a traffic jam on our way to Virgin Megastores (My World of Warcraft subscription is almost over. My Hunter is progressing quite well, expect an update soon), we were stuck in another traffic jam to Al Azhar Park and another Traffic Jam within the park itself and the impossibility of finding a parking space and we got lost in the park itself ... So at least the part we caught in the gig was nice.

Oh yeah ... We saw Wyvern's album "The Clown" for sale on the shelves of the Metal section. It's very encouraging to see the road Wyvern has travelled to reach this point as well as Mascara's recent performance in the Swedish Rock Festival as well as Scarab's performance in Dubai desert rock earlier this year! It's possible to reach for more than just Sawy gigs and I hope we do .

The band is full of hidden geniuses it seems! Remember Bishoy's theory of Day Light Savings? Omar came up today with the application of the Utilization of Resources theory in City Stars' food court. Damn ... What a waste! He also drew my attention to how much money I pay for Jamming hours in studios! It's true ... If I actually save up this money, I can have a little studio in my home myself! How didn't I think of it??

It was a really nice day .. All in all! Its moment like these, as simple as they are, that put some taste to our insignificant and irrelevant lives! =D

That is why despite a very annoying headache, sore feet and lack of sleep I am writing this post, uploading photos and editing videos. As Papa Hetfield says "The memory remains!" and since we've got neither fortune nor fame, it's all what we ultimately have. We love to share it, so whoever you maybe, wherever you maybe and whenever you maybe (be it many years later), be it ourselves ... Watching and reading this. I salute you =0)

Oh yeah! congratulations to all Egyptians and supporters of the Egyptian National Football team who defeted yesterday Italy the current World Cup Champions of 2006 1-0 !! It's unbelievable and perhaps that is why it feels so damn good! I am happy they proved me wrong and as it turns out our performance against football titans wasn't the comedy of the season afterall. Woosh!

Enjoy the video ... It's a long one! A prize for you if you complete it!!

Music Mana III - Enraged live @ El Sawy

As you probably know Enraged is going to share the stage with The Room, Instrumental Therapy and Varden on July the 9th in El Sawy Culture in the third edition of Music Mana.

I am really excited about this event. We are preparing a couple of songs that we've never covered before for Nightwish and After Forever as well as a new original that I really look forward to perform. The new song is called "The Invisible Hand" and it's really heavy! I hope you guys like it ... I'll probably write about the concept of the song in a seperate post but I'll give a brief hint. As the name implies; the theme of the song is about manipulation by forces that we can't see that try to meddle with our lives and ideas and attempts to shape us to meet its own ends.

We will be doing a lot of practising the next couple of weeks, there is so little time and a lot to do!!! Wish us luck guys and I hope to see you all there. I'll keep this blog busy so stay tuned.
Here is the flyer!

Summer Times!

Summer is FINALLY here! It was a very long and tiring semester for me. I know some of you aren't done yet, so for all of you out there who are still swamped with your exams, GOOD LUCK! And remember to take it easy on yourself ... If you're taking it way too easy on yourself then allow me to whisper something in your ears "FOR FART'S SAKE GO READ SOMETHING!" =P

As the vacation started I was surprised to find out that I totally forgot what it is like to be a 24/7 good for nothing slob. It's ... well; it's great! For me it is a time to be care free with absolutely no bad conscience attached to it.

There are a lot of things to look for in this summer such as more disappointments from our national team in the Confederations Cup or more humiliations in the qualifiers to the World Cup next year.

Nevertheless, it's always great to gather around the TV with your friends and family to enjoy the humiliation together. Egypt vs Brazil, now that will be THE comedy of the season.

And of course Shisha to fuck up my health even more =D

I am also officially announcing that from now on I'll be a double agent for both the Horde and The Alliance as I am starting to seriously level a Dwarf Hunter after a lot of trials of different class/race combos. My allegiance, at the bottom of my heart, remains always with The Horde though.

Summer is also live and kicking in Sharm where I've spent a couple of days. I've tried parasailing for the first time and I must say it was awesome! It's literally like flying! Of course having to pose as an American to dodge the "couples only" lame rule in Sharm's bars and discos was kinda frustrating but somehow it worked! The trick to make it work is to be very desperate and to remember George Costanza's great quote "It's not a lie, if you believe it".

But summer has more to offer for us this year. Enraged will be performing in El Sawy Culturewheel along 3 other great bands in a long and thrilling Rock/Metal night! I'll reveal all the information as soon as possible on our website, Facebook and, of course, here. It's going to be great and I am especially excited about the gig as we will play really heavy covers that we haven't played before as well as a new original from the new material I am writing. Of course you know where to find us! So keep visiting this blog as I'll be updating it with lots of the things we do to prepare for our gig.

I didn't want to leave you with this post without a video this time! So ... until I have something that is music related; here is a small clip I've taken in Sharm the Garden of Sin =D
