Ma'at Recording: Day 1 (6th of February)

Good news ya Enragedawya (Yuck! It does sound disgusting as I expected. I can't stand mawdoo3 band-awya dah.)

Anyway we've decided to rerecord our single Ma'at in Ganoub Studio. Today was the first day of recording and man ... It was fucking hectic! To quote Amr Hefny "El recording, bey3alem el adab". All those endless jams playing bel baraka and practicing in front of the TV came today with a swift retribution! If you do the time right, the accents may sound bad or not "soulful" as intended. These are the kind of things that some may not notice while rehearsing but are ugly as a dog ass when you record. I did manage to finally record most of the rhythm parts with some doubts in my mind that I may want to rerecord it. The band and Amr said it was fine bass el wesas el khanas mesh sayebny fee 7aly.

I wasn't sure before today but using stomps and amps creates a MUCH cleaner and genuine sound. I am actually considering throwing away my GT-8 in the future.

It was a good experience and a huge wake up call. I'll keep you posted! In the meanwhile here are some pics and footage from the recording session.

Be!

Instead of preparing with a metronome ... Here is what I've been doing just before the session =/

Thinking hard of how not to suck!

Settings! Saved for the next session

And finally a small clip of the session ... We were trying to figure out what "sound" we want to make.
